About Adrianne
I don’t just know chemistry. I teach it at the college level.
Right after graduating from the University of Arizona (Microbiology), I co-founded a tutoring company and spent years working college students through Gen Chem and Organic. That’s where I fell in love with synthesis problems — and where I learned how students actually get stuck.
Eight years later, I’m still on the other side of the college classroom as an adjunct professor. I write exams like your professor writes them. I know the pace of the semester, the exact units where students fall behind, and what graders reward in an answer.

Introductory Level
Fundamental Chemistry
Intro or remedial college chemistry. Build the foundations right and the rest of the sequence becomes manageable. Ideal for students who need a strong start before Gen Chem.
First Semester
General Chemistry I · Chem 151
Stoichiometry, atomic structure, bonding, gases, thermodynamics. The course that filters pre-med and nursing students. We’ll make sure you’re not one of the ones it filters out.
Second Semester
General Chemistry II · Chem 152
Equilibrium, acids and bases, electrochemistry, kinetics. Builds directly on Chem 151 — but the pace picks up fast. Good time to get ahead of the curve.
Upper Division
Organic Chemistry
Mechanisms, synthesis problems, and reaction patterns. Organic has a brutal reputation — but it’s pattern-based. Once you see the logic, it clicks. This is my personal favorite to teach.

Pre-session prep. I review your specific homework or exam questions before we meet and build the session around what you need — not a generic Gen Chem walkthrough.
Session recap notes. Written summary sent after every session. Review it before your next class or quiz.
Async homework review. Between sessions, send me your problem sets and I’ll give written feedback. Useful when an exam is two days away and your session isn’t until Saturday.
Exam strategy. How college chem exams are written, what professors reward, how to show your work to get partial credit even on wrong answers.
Targeted problem sets. If you need more practice on a specific mechanism or reaction type, I’ll build it. No recycled worksheets from online.

Questions I get from college students
It’s rarely too late to turn things around — but it depends on how far behind and how much time is left in your semester. Book the free Check-In and we’ll assess honestly. Sometimes the answer is a focused catch-up plan. Sometimes it’s better to focus on the final and plan for next semester. Either way, we’ll figure out the most useful thing to do with the time you have.
Sessions require 48 hours notice so I have time to review your materials and prep for the session. That means if your exam is Thursday, booking Wednesday morning won’t work. If you’re on a recurring weekly time, that’s reserved in advance so you’re never scrambling.
For Fall 2026, scheduled sessions are Saturdays — I teach full-time during the week. That said, students also get async homework review between sessions, so you can send questions any day of the week and get written feedback before your next class.
Yes — and this is actually one of the most useful things I can do. Send me past exams or a practice test from your professor and I can reverse-engineer what they’re testing for, how they weight partial credit, and what kind of explanation they want to see. This is the advantage of working with someone who writes college chem exams themselves.
